The second industrial pole of the Ardèche is formed by the 2 associations of local authorities of the Boutières and of the Country of the Cheylard. The manufacturing of jewels is the main activity. Saint Martin de Valamas is the birth place of jewellery, indeed, since the implementation of the company Murat in 1868 in this city, the jewel industry was increased with the creation of a lot of other companies in these 2 cantons.
